GolfingWomen, a division of Sports Journeys, Inc., was founded
in 2002 by two former marketing executives, Leslie Andrews
and Adrienne Wax. Both avid golfers, each played golf for
business, where they often found they were among only a handful
of women at events they attended. Seeking to help other women
take advantage of the powerful business benefits of golf, they
founded GolfingWomen.
As you are seeking resources in the world of golf, turn to
GolfingWomen for expertise in a variety of areas. GolfingWomen
offers programs designed by experienced professionals, from
golf instruction, to workshops to golf travel. You can, and
should, learn to leverage golf from women who literally have
been there, done that.
Leslie Andrews spent over 15 years in senior level marketing
and event management positions at world-class companies as ESPN
and Disney. She has a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.B.A.
from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Two years ago, she left the corporate world to train as an
LPGA golf instructor. In the winter of 2002-03, she taught at
Deer Creek Golf Club in Deerfield Beach, FL. In the summer and
fall of 2003, Leslie taught at Montauk Downs State Park Golf
Course, a "Top 50 Places to Play" venue located
on the easternmost tip of Long Island. Leslie also applies her
extensive event management experience to the management of Corporate
Golf Outings.
Adrienne Wax, a veteran of over 25 years in the advertising
industry, most recently served as Senior Vice President, Group
Account Director at Wunderman, a division of Young & Rubicam.
Previously, she held senior account management and new business
positions at Pickholz Tweedy + Co., and at Ammirati Puris Lintas.
She has a B.A. from the City University of New York, where she
was a nationally ranked tennis player. An avid travel planner,
Adrienne directs Travel for Golf, a division of Sports Journeys,
Inc., focused on providing turnkey golf travel services to destinations
such as Scotland, Ireland and Pebble Beach.
